This work is entitled “After Bathing” and consequently will find a place near a garden pond or swimming pool. But even without a pond or pool, the beauty of the young girl will vie with the beauty of the surrounding garden wherever she is placed. This is an idea that has run like a common thread through garden art for centuries: the perfect human figure as part of perfect natural surroundings.
