Bronze sculpture details
The tennis game lives from its dynamism. It is fast and requires maximum concentration from both players with every rally. Of course, this is especially true if the player has to calculate and prepare his return in seconds at one stroke from the opponent. Mücke shows this moment; a blink of an eye later the player knows how to react.
Edition in bronze, cast using the lost wax technique, chased and patinated by hand. Limited to 49 numbered and signed copies.
Torsten Mücke is a trained goldsmith and chaser. His art could be described as "art of omission". Mücke is a sculptor who reduces his designs step by step to just the essentials, through this he is able to penetrate to the artistic core. It is his precise eye for the essentials that allows him to remain representational.
